Description The Utility Assistant maintains cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas according to Foodservices Cleaning Task Schedule and Procedures. Cleans /Sanitizes all dishes, pots and pans and utensils used in food preparation and service. Cleans/Sanitizes kitchen service and preparation area floors. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of supplies in resident units dining areas and pantries. Supports Hospital's mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines, meeting facility standards, and obtaining appropriate certification.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas in compliance with all sanitation guidelines as per Sanitary Code and department policy. 2. Demonstrates competency in all skills required when using the dish washing machine and performing tasks in the pot washing area. 3. Logs dishwasher temperatures (wash/ rinse) per each shift and reports poor inadequate temperatures. 4. Logs and maintains sanitizing solution PPM in pot washing 3 compartment sink as per policy and regulatory guidelines. 5. Cleans and sanitizes soiled items including but not limited to dishes, flatware, pots and pans; cleans and sanitizes other item used in food preparation and service. 6. Adheres to the proper usage of chemical agents within the department; utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as indicated. 7. Clean/Sanitizes food production equipment and appliances. 8. Maintains cleanliness of resident unit great room pantries, counters, cabinets and refrigeration as required. 9. Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures and report unacceptable temperatures. 10. Deliver and store required items in the unit pantries: meals, nourishments, flatware, plates, cups and other items. 11. Cleans and sanitizes resident and staff dining areas, tables, chairs and high chairs. 12. Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, walk-in refrigeration and storeroom floors. 13. Completes and documents job specific daily cleaning assignments. 14. Assists in receiving and storing of foods and supplies as necessary as per policy. 15. Assists in the delivery of meal carts to the units and programs. 16. Assist with meal set up and service in the café. 17. Remove and appropriately dispose of trash, cardboard, recyclables and other discarded items . 18. Performs other related duties and activities that may become necessary as assigned.

Requirements Formal education required:
