Job Description

•22.5 hours/week (4.5 hrs.
/day:
TBD) North High School Food Service Helper
•25 hours/week (5 hrs.
/day:
TBD) Transit Middle School Food Service Helper
•25 hours/week (5 hrs.
/day:
TBD) 10 months per school year
Pay Rate:
$18.00/hour
Duties:
Prepares and portions daily school menu production items as specified by unit manager. Assists with pots and pans, general kitchen clean up, serving food to students and ware-washing. Responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary work areas. Acts as cashier. May be assigned to any and all aspects of school food service operations. Prepares and cooks soups, pizza, meats, vegetables Makes salads and sandwiches and a variety of other foods May serve prepared meals from the steam table. Helps manager with inventory and may assist in food ordering
Requirements:
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Good organizational skills. Dependability. Good people skills. Good physical condition. Team player. Patient with children. Basic math skills. Some food preparation experience preferred but not required.
