Job Description

Snack Barn & Bakery Food Service Worker The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard is seeking Food Service Workers to operate the Mill's popular Snack Barn & Bakery located adjacent to the Historic Mill. This operation started in the early 1980's selling doughnuts, cider, and hot dogs. Now the menu has grown to include pot roast, BBQ sandwiches, soups, chili, and our Famous Mac & Cheese. The Snack Barn also is a full-service ice cream shop with specialties such as cider floats, cider slushies and 16 flavors of hand dipped ice cream. In addition to menu items the Snack Barn creates its own baked goods using thaw-and-bake foodservice products. Currently the Snack Barn is set up for high-volume, quick-service production methods that involve heating or preparing, holding then serving. The Mill is looking for individuals who can follow recipes, clean as you go in a high-volume setting while giving great customer service.
Job Summary:
The Food Service Team Member provides superior customer service in support of the Mill's Snack Barn and Bakery food service operations. The scope of the duties associated with this position range from fulfilling hot/cold menu food items, preparing trays, cashiering, to clean-up and duties usual to a food service setting. The Team Member is expected to interact with our visitors/guests in a pleasant, engaging, and sincerely friendly manner. The ideal team member candidate has prior customer service experience, an upbeat and friendly demeanor, and a professional personal appearance. The following is a representative list of the responsibilities associated with this position: Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Greet all customers in a warm and sincere manner. Be informative regarding all food service menu and bakery items. Be attentive to visitors/guests and provide immediate assistance when required. Accurately prepare and serve food items according to guest order. Accurately take orders and payments on a Point-of-Sale system. Perform set up and clean up duties customary in a food service setting. Assist other team members when needed.

  • A good attitude is crucial to this position. A willingness to take the initiative in getting the job done is required. A successful candidate will demonstrate pride in following recipes and creating flavorful and attractive food products. Cleanliness is paramount
  • Once trained, upkeep of cleanliness is critical. If you see dirt, clean it up. If the trash basket is full, empty it. All of this is required WITHOUT having to be asked to do it. Endurance
  • This job requires following directions, safe food handling and maintaining a clean workspace.
Constant standing, stooping, bending, moving around and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. When does the Snack Barn Worker work? 5-6 shifts a week in-season, Times vary, and Weekends are required in the fall.
Off Season:
varied and as needed. The starting rate of pay is $17.63

20 per hour with many opportunities for overtime. This is a starting rate of pay and will increase when job summary, requirements and quality are shown to be within the parameters of this description. On-site Housing is available at $47.25 per week plus shared utility costs and
