About the
Role:
The Dining Services Aide plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for all patrons. This position is responsible for supporting the dining services team by assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. The aide contributes to a positive dining experience by promptly addressing customer needs and adhering to health and safety standards. This role requires collaboration with kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient service flow and compliance with operational guidelines. Ultimately, the Dining Services Aide helps create an enjoyable and hygienic atmosphere that supports the overall success of the dining services operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and patrons. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in food service or hospitality. Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe). Ability to operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely. Experience working in a fast-paced dining environment. Bilingual skills to assist a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established guidelines and dietary requirements. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and service stations. Set up dining areas before service and clear tables promptly after use to ensure a smooth turnover. Support inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting shortages to supervisors. Follow all health, safety, and food handling regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.

The Dining Services Aide utilizes strong interpersonal skills daily to communicate courteously with guests and collaborate with team members. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards, ensuring a hygienic dining environment. Physical stamina and time management skills enable the aide to efficiently handle multiple tasks such as setting up dining areas, serving food, and cleaning. Problem-solving abilities help address any immediate issues that arise during service, such as supply shortages or customer requests. Preferred skills like food safety certification and experience in hospitality enhance the aide's capability to contribute effectively to the overall dining service operation.
