Food Service Worker Job Overview:
LGC Hospitality Staffing is hiring dependable Food Service Workers to support colleges, K-12 schools, and event-based food service operations. This is a temporary, on-call position ideal for individuals who are reliable, take direction well, and can work efficiently in structured, fast-paced environments. You will assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining clean, organized work areas while representing LGC at client locations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with food prep (portioning, assembling, and serving meals) Support cafeteria lines, dining halls, and event service operations Serve food in a timely and professional manner Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed Restock food, beverages, and supplies throughout shifts Follow all food safety, sanitation, and client-specific guidelines Assist with setup and breakdown for meal service or events Follow direction from supervisors, chefs, and client managers Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work
Work Environments:
Colleges and universities (dining halls, campus events) K-12 schools (cafeterias and meal programs) Event venues and catering operations
Requirements:
Previous food service, cafeteria, or kitchen experience preferred Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Ability to work in structured, high-volume environments Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction Reliable transportation to various job sites Flexible schedule (early mornings, daytime shifts, some evenings/weekends) Professional appearance and dependable attendance
