Dietary Supervisor Position Summary The Foodservice Worker supports the Homestead and Hospital operations by assisting in food service preparation, sanitation, and meal delivery to patients, residents, staff, and community meals on wheels. This role contributes to a positive experience by maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and customer service. The Foodservice Worker plays an essential role in ensuring safe, high-quality food service and a positive, service-oriented experience. Required Skills Communicates effectively with patients, residents, staff, and team members Works collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across multiple service areas Maintains organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting Follows safety, sanitation, and infection control practices consistently Manages time efficiently and completes tasks within assigned deadlines Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and professionalism Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous dietary, food service, or customer service experience preferred Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a vehicle for meal delivery required Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing and serving meals for Homestead residents. Take meal orders and serve meals to residents in the Homestead Dining area Take orders via fax or phone for Hospital patients and staff Deliver meal trays to Hospital patient care areas and Meals on Wheels to community members in a timely, and professional manner Provide excellent customer service to all patients, residents, staff, and community members Collect and return trays from patient rooms, dining areas, and service locations Clear tables and dining areas promptly, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment Operate dishwashing equipment in accordance with established sanitation procedures Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dish room, Homestead dining areas, and workspaces Sweep, mop, and perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, and dispose of trash as assigned Assist with food and supply deliveries and stock dietary supplies for hospital and Homestead Ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, including utilization of SQSS (Strategic Quality Support System) for compliance tracking. Adhere to all Share Medical Center/Homestead policy and procedure, follow HIPAA guidelines, completes all required educational training and performs other job duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, with assistance if needed. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching while performing tasks. Use of hands and arms for repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning agents, temperature changes, and facility noise. Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the Hospital and Homestead to respond to operational needs Potential Hazards Exposure to temperature variations including hot kitchen equipment and cold storage areas, cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and food handling environments. Risk of cuts, burns, slips, trips, and falls associated with kitchen and food service operations Exposure to hospital-related hazards including blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, electric shock, and chemicals. Employees must adhere to all hospital safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
