DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The primary objective of the Cafeteria Assistant position is to assist the Cafeteria Supervisor in any duties necessary to prepare and serve lunch on time to the Elementary and Secondary students. This position must agree with and support the Staff Member's Covenant, Marriage, and Sexuality Statement and agree with/help fulfill CHA's Mission Statement. Essential Functions (Responsibilities and Tasks) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Set up a serving line for Elementary and Secondary students. Use
FACTS SIS
to print daily lunch reports and provide the numbers to the Cafeteria Supervisor as needed. Prepare food for Elementary and Secondary serving lines. Use FACTS register to charge for ala carte items and use FACTS to verify the lunch orders of the students who come through the line. Assist with daily clean-up. Attends staff meetings, committee meetings, and all other meetings that are required. Attends Professional Development training and devotions throughout the year Competencies (Qualifications) Personal relationship with Jesus Christ Knowledge of Health Regulations by completing online food safety training
Communication Proficiency Interpersonal Skills Teamwork Skills Stress Management/Composure Learning Orientation Ethical Conduct Flexibility and Adaptability Initiative Clerical Skills:
Computer, phone, online cash register and calculator. Supervisor Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position also uses kitchen equipment such as a gas stove, conventional oven, convection oven, microwave, industrial mixer, dishwasher, three-basin sink, steam table, heat lamp, walk-in-refrigerator, and walk-in-freezer. Performance Standards Completing tasks well and in a timely manner (before or at the due date) while representing Christian Heritage Academy in a way that glorifies Christ. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time, 10-month hourly position. The hours are from 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. M, T, TH, and F, with days off according to leave and the school calendar from August to May. Travel Occasional travel to local stores for cafeteria products. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The school is currently a multi-level facility, which requires this position to navigate flights of stairs regularly to meet responsibilities as it relates to the school. Must be able to speak clearly and orally in person or over the phone to parents, students and/or other employees. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office and kitchen equipment, and lift at least 45 pounds. Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, or climb all day. Required Education Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience Experience working in a cafeteria environment.
