The property includes Mokara Spa, six food & beverage outlets, 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a retail outlet, fitness center, and rooftop pool. Assistant Director of Convention Services Overview The Assistant Director of Convention Services supports the Director in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Convention Services Department with an with emphasis assigning group turnovers, supervising the hourly associates within the department (including Banquet Event Order distribution), training and onboarding new managers and associates, and servicing assigned groups. A significant factor for success will rely on achieving Group Medallia and Associate Engagement Survey scores that meet or exceed both the previous year's results and company benchmarks. The Assistant Director of Convention Services will guide the team in achieving monthly revenue goals, develop and implement service action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Catering & Convention Services. Responsibilities Review booking turnovers and assign to CSM's for servicing. Directly supervise and schedule hourly associates within the Catering & Convention Services department Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with direct reports Serves as assigned Convention Services Manager for large conventions and key accounts and other groups of varied sizes as needed Work on special projects as assigned by Director of Catering & Convention Services. Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and directing the activities of the Convention Service Managers, Catering Coordinator, and Event Concierge Team Responsible for ensuring that all Meeting & Event Standards are followed by department personnel. Responsible for all administrative duties which are necessary in the functioning of the department, including, but not limited to daily and weekly reports, BEO, and Group Resume distribution Participates in the interview, evaluation, and selection process for all incoming departmental personnel. Coordinates onboarding process and training of new hires within the department Manage the Planning and Event phases of all assigned events and achieve an Medallia Overall Satisfaction score that meets or exceeds established hotel benchmarks. Establishes and maintains rapport with outside purveyors, who provide services for the Hotel and its guests through the Convention Services Department. Meets with major convention/meeting planners to coordinate final arrangements for convention/meetings. Facilitates BEO and Group Resume meetings when called upon Responsible for overseeing the coordination of the property BEO book Ability to represent the Catering & Convention Services department at any internal and customer meetings in the absence of the Director of Catering & Convention Services Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Catering & Convention Services. Qualifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to communicate effectively to perspective and existing clients Ability to develop relationships quickly via in person or across digital channels. Ability to control the sales process from start to finish and demonstrate a high propensity to close the business or gain commitment from the planner Minimum bachelor's degree and/or 3 years of hotel Convention Services Manager or similar experience in a full-service luxury or 4-diamond hotel venue Knowledge of Delphi Salesforce FDC preferred Comfortable with Microsoft Suite products and virtual presentations.
