About this Position Assist with preparation of nutritious and enjoyable meals and snacks for children ages 12 months to 6 years using approved recipes and in accordance with NAEYC and OKDHS child nutrition guidelines; including portion size and restricted foods. Follow Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines for commercial kitchens; including sanitation and storage of food and chemicals. Assist with sanitation and safe operations of all equipment; including daily cleaning routine and making or reporting necessary repairs on equipment. Assist with the training of student employees that may be assigned to the kitchen. Occasional food preparation for field trips and family events. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Zero to six months relative professional experience. Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
Pediatric First Aid and CPR within 60 days of employment. Successful completion of ServSafe Food Handler's course within 90 days of employment and annual renewal. Required annual training through OSU. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Knowledge of kitchen equipment use and maintenance.
Self-management:
time management skills, willingness to improve own performance.
Problem-solving:
applying creative thinking to develop appropriate solutions.
Excellent communication skills:
written and verbal. Organized and methodical. Excellent standards of hygiene. Positive attitude.
Application of information technology:
basic IT skills, including MSWord, Excel and using internet search engines. Preferred Qualifications Vocational/Technical Food service, nutrition or related field Experience in food service or related area.
