Job Description

The Breakfast Server is responsible for preparing all breakfast items for hotel guests and cleaning of the kitchen and breakfast room, in compliance with Vintage Hotels standards. The Breakfast Server also directly assists guests and must provide the best possible customer service experience for them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare and set out breakfast foods and beverages Set out clean plates, utensils and napkins Greet guests as they arrive Refill foods and beverages as they get low Assist guests with preparation of waffles, oatmeal, etc. as needed Respond to all guest requests in a positive and prompt manner Bus and wipe down tables Store food and beverage items according to health regulations Wash dishes and/or place them in the sanitizer Clean, sweep and mop and/or vacuum the breakfast room Clean, sweep and mop the kitchen Put away product deliveries using First In, First Out protocol Report any issues shared by guest to Assistant General Manager or General Manager Work in conjunction with other departments Assist housekeeping as needed Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills Ability to be welcoming and courteous to guests, coworkers and vendors Must be organized and able to multitask Ability to remain cheerful under stress Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times Ability to understand and carry out instructions Good knowledge of the local area and businesses Good communication skills Basic reading and math skills Manual dexterity in the use of kitchen utensils, cleaning tools and appliances
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous related work experience High School Diploma or
GED REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Food Handler's Card (to be completed once hired) Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work requires standing and walking for most of each shift Work requires use of an oven, beverage brewing equipment, microwave oven, toasters and waffle makers Work requires use of mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums and dish sanitizers Work requires repeated contact with cleaning chemicals Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Primary worksite is indoors
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
Early morning shifts only, weekends and holidays Hourly position, Non-Exempt $15.75 per hour, review in 90-days
