Job Description

Baden Academy Charter School, a K-6 arts integrated elementary school, is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker, to join our kitchen team in preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to 600 students while following the state and federal regulations of the National School Lunch Program.
POSITION PARAMETERS
10-month position, 187-190 working days. 8:00am-1:30pm. 5.5 hour day. This position will begin Aug 12, 2026 and end in early June 2027. There is reasonable assurance that the position will continue the following school year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares and serves breakfast and lunch food according to menus and in correct portion sizes as mandated by state and federal guidelines. Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dishwashing and pot washing. Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events. Complies with all state, Federal, local health department requirements for safe food handling. Complies with all client location security protocols and guidelines. Responsible for checking product dates, discarding expired or damaged products and stores incoming supply deliveries according to health department requirements. Follows the position schedule as assigned by the manager. Washes pans, utensils and dishes as assigned. Stores silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, etc. Attends and completes all mandatory training as assigned. Manages PrimeroEdge POS system during meal times with speed and accuracy. Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1 year professional food service experience preferred. Ability to always present a positive and professional image. Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; Act 24 and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance. Negative TB test.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, and food boxes. The employee will push/pull food carts on a daily basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, listen and/or reach with hands and arms. Job requires the operation of standard cafeteria/food service equipment and supplies. Occasionally the employee will work under a degree of stress as related to duties that require constant attention to details and meeting tight deadlines. The employee has a greater than average risk of getting a minor injury such as cut or burn while performing the duties of the job without utilizing the providing proper PPE equipment. The employee will conduct their duties in the cafeteria/kitchen environment with routine exposure to discomforting conditions such as heat, and or cold. The noise level in this environment is frequently loud during meal service. About Baden Academy Charter School Baden Academy Charter School is a K-6, public charter school. All children, Kindergarten through sixth grade, are eligible for enrollment in our school, at no cost to the parents/guardians of enrolled students. BACS offers an arts-infused academic experience at our brick-and-mortar campus in Baden, PA. In addition to typical English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, our students receive weekly instruction, from expert educators, in theater, music, and visual arts. We offer violin instruction, beginning in first grade, and host multiple performances throughout each school year that give children an opportunity to put their newly acquired skills on display for family and friends.
