Job Description

Banquet Captain Wyndridge Farm | Weddings & Private Events Wyndridge Farm is seeking an organized, confident, and hospitality-focused Banquet Captain to help lead the execution of weddings, private events, and corporate functions. The Banquet Captain is a key leadership presence during each event. This position requires someone who can take ownership of the details, stay ahead of the event timeline, lead the banquet team, and ensure the experience is executed to Wyndridge Farm standards. Responsibilities Review and stay on top of all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event details. Be a professional and welcoming face of Wyndridge Farm during day-of events . Know the event timeline, setup, menu, bar details, special requests, and service expectations before the event begins. Lead banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff throughout the event. Conduct pre-event meetings and clearly communicate assignments, timelines, and expectations to the team. Ensure event spaces are properly set and prepared according to the BEO. Stay ahead of the timeline and make sure the team is prepared for each stage of service. Coordinate closely with event coordinators, culinary staff, bartenders, and other departments. Oversee the flow of cocktail hour, dinner service, bar service, special moments, and event transitions. Communicate professionally with clients, wedding parties, vendors, and guests when needed. Identify problems quickly and take initiative to find solutions. Remain calm, organized, and professional when plans change or pressure increases. Delegate responsibilities and keep the banquet team organized, productive, and focused. Maintain Wyndridge Farm's standards for hospitality, cleanliness, presentation, and service. Lead by example and be willing to step into any service role when necessary. Ensure proper breakdown, cleanup, and resetting of event spaces following events. Help train and support new banquet team members. What We're Looking For Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to understand and accurately execute BEOs. Strong attention to detail. Ability to confidently lead and direct a team. Comfortable making decisions and solving problems in the moment. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism. Dependable, proactive, and accountable. Strong hospitality instincts and guest-service skills. Previous banquet, wedding, restaurant, or event experience preferred. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule. The ideal Banquet Captain is someone who stays two steps ahead . They understand the event plan, know what needs to happen next, communicate clearly with the team, and take ownership of making sure the details are handled correctly. Guests should see a confident, welcoming Wyndridge Farm representative. Behind the scenes, the team should see a Captain who provides clear direction, organization, and leadership throughout the event.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
