POSITION:
General Food Service Worker
LOCATION
District-Wide HOURS:
4.75 hrs per/day
START DATE
Immediately $17.50 per hour
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Food Service General Worker assists in providing quality food and service to students in a quick and pleasant manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Food Service General Worker reports directly to the Food Services Manager Works cooperatively with administration, supervisors, staff, parents and students to perform job responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
180 days per year; hours worked per day vary according to assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service District Manager. Prepare food to proper temperatures according to HACCP regulations. Run kitchen equipment as assigned. Serve at counter. Work in dish room with automatic dishwasher. Wash pots and pans. Clean all kitchen equipment. Use computer in POS system when assigned. Collect cash and checks and maintain accurate receipt reports on a daily basis. Maintain inventory of selected items. Put food away promptly and ensure equipment is turned off properly. The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the supervisor. Employee must wear assigned uniform and must wear a head cover. Employee must maintain proper level of personal hygiene and appearance
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. SERV-SAFE
certificate and/or HACCP certificate preferred Knowledge of food production and customer service Ability to follow verbal and written directions Ability to maintain pleasant, cooperative and positive work attitude Ability to work in a friendly manner and communicate with co-workers and students Maintain neat and clean appearance Current Act 34, Act 151, FBI & Act 126 clearances The person, while performing in this position, will be required to: ?Remain in a stationary position 50% Move about work area with ease Position self accurately and safely Have the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and or move up to 50 pounds Have specific vision abilities including close, color and adjust focus Handle hot and sharp objects Use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations Have ability to communicate and converse with employees and students Be exposed to cafeteria/kitchen environmental conditions with severe temperature changes and moderate to loud noise levels
