Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting and is founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect. Foxdale is regarded as a premier healthcare facility both locally and nationally and has been voted "Best Retirement Community in State College, PA" for over a decade. Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations. We are seeking a new Dining Associate to join our team.

We are hiring for:

Full-Time position, would typically be working (1130AM-8PM

OR 6AM-230PM

), 40 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday Part-Time position, would typically be working (4PM-8PM), 20-30 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday Limited Part-Time position, would typically be working (4PM-730PM), less than 20 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday

Dining Associate Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving of food, set-up and clean-up of Café, Bistro, Main Dining Room, Anthony House dining areas and kitchenettes. Service food and beverages to residents. As needed, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special requests and needs, in-between meal food delivery. Proactively check to ensure residents are enjoying their dining experience and take action to correct any problems.

Dining Associate job duties include:

Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.

Assist residents, primarily in health care setting, by serving and delivering meals or other requested menu items.

Register sales on Point-of-Sale System (POS) by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers' purchases, and charging customers (residents, staff, visitors, and family members) according to department policies.

Portion food in quantities specified by nutritional standards set by Registered Dietitian and management.

Serve special meals and catered events as needed.

Assist the cooks and line/prep-cooks as needed and assigned by the team leader and/or management.

Operate dish machines and all other equipment within the department as required and assigned by the team leader and/or management.

Set up and break down dining venues for service.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations according to department

Sort flatware and glasses as needed.

Years of Service Recognition Program Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.

ServeSafe certification is a plus.

Relevant work experience in dining service or food service is preferred.

Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English language with residents and other team members.

Able to work holidays and weekends as part of a schedule rotation.

Possess a reliable and dependable attendance to work profile.
