Job Description

Job Summary This is a 7 day, all shift position. Shift availability may vary based on departmental needs. We are seeking a dependable Food Service Worker to support daily food service operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role helps prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, and provide excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff. Duties may include cafeteria service, dish room, tray line, food prep, catering, and cleaning. Key Responsibilities Prepare, serve, and portion food following safety and quality standards Gathers supplies and sets up the cafeteria for serving Operate cash register accurately (as assigned) Ring transactions on cash register according to type of sale with minimal error Deliver and retrieve patient trays and carts (as assigned) Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and dining spaces Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines Work independently while meeting daily deadlines Perform other duties as assigned Food Service Worker II (Additional Duties - if applicable) Coordinate patient meal service based on diet orders Speak menus with patients and tally food selections Prepare patient trays, snacks, and delayed meals Verify tray accuracy and perform patient check-backs Assist with daily counts and end-of-shift closing duties Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred (training provided) Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 20 lbs Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs Exposure to temperature changes from kitchen equipment Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
