Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at our vibrant cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall success of the cafe. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and delivering memorable dining experiences. Duties Assist in managing daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervise and train staff on food preparation, customer service, and safety protocols Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food and beverage stock levels Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS Support shift management by coordinating staff schedules and ensuring smooth service flow Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food presentation Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing operational efficiency Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly Lead staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster team development Experience Proven experience in restaurant management or food service management roles Supervising or team management experience within quick service or casual dining environments Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS is preferred Background in food preparation, kitchen management, or culinary operations is highly desirable Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and staff training & development Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members Knowledge of food safety regulations and hospitality industry standards Prior experience in fine dining, catering, or hotel food service is a plus Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage shift operations effectively This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a thriving cafe environment while advancing their management career in the hospitality industry.
