Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in the daily operations of Miracle Market and Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service management, hospitality, and team leadership, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by disability. As the Assistant General Manager, you will support the GM in managing daily cafe and market operations, assist with training, coaching, scheduling and recognizing team members, help ensure guest receive excellent customer service in a welcoming environment, and maintain strong awarness of food quality and safety and operational standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a lively community hub that combines retail and culinary offerings in a fast-paced environment while supporting the agency mission to maximize abilities of individuals with special needs by teaching, empowering, advocating and mentoring. Duties Support the General Manager in all aspects of market and cafe operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning and high standards of service. Assist with staff recruitment, train, mentor and provide guidance to staff to support excellent customer service and adherence to agency policy. Coordinate with kitchen staff to support efficient food production, timely order fulfilment and consistent product quality. Implement/monitor inventory control measures for food, beverages, and retail products to optimize stock levels and reduce waste. Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to improve restaurant performance and profitability. Assist with promotional activities, merchandising and community-facing initiatives that support customer growth. Respond to customer concerns and resolve routine issues professionally, escalating matters to the General Manager when appropriate. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health, safety, OSHA, DHEC and agency requirements. Serve as acting operational lead when the General Manager is unavailable within assigned authority.
Minimum Training and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience in restaurant, cafe, food service, retail or related operations is required. Demonstrated experience or willingness to work with individuals supported by MaxAbilities. Prior supervisory, shift lead, assistant manager or team leadership experience required. Strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in Square, Toast or other related Point of Sale Systems. Ability to pass all employment screenings/security checks. Valid driver's license and a vehicle for use on the job. The Assistant General Manager must have the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Activities include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, driving, walking, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The role may require lifting, carrying, and physically supporting service recipients according to MANDT training and may require lifting up to 50 pounds. Agency offers a great benefits package to include low cost health insurance via BCBS SC State Plan and participation in SC State Retirement System (Employee Contribution 9% with Employer contribution of 18%).

$37,500.00 - $47,500.00 per year
