Job Summary Join our vibrant hospitality team as a Hotel Breakfast Attendant, where your energy and attention to detail will set the tone for our guests' mornings! In this lively role, you'll ensure a welcoming and spotless breakfast area, prepare and serve delicious food and beverages, and deliver exceptional in-person customer service. Your enthusiasm will help create memorable experiences for our guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hospitality. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary and customer service skills in a dynamic hotel environment. Duties Prepare and replenish breakfast items, including hot and cold foods, beverages, and garnishes, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Set up buffet stations with attention to presentation, ensuring all items are fresh, appealing, and properly stocked throughout service hours. Greet guests warmly upon arrival, assist with food selections, answer questions about menu offerings—including wine knowledge—and provide friendly in-person customer service. Maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area by cleaning tables, counters, utensils, and equipment regularly; follow proper cleaning protocols to ensure hygiene standards are met. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including coffee machines, toasters, warming trays, and beverage dispensers. Handle food safely during preparation and serving; process cash transactions accurately using POS systems when applicable. Assist with food handling tasks such as portioning ingredients, setting up catering or banquet-style breakfast services, and supporting dietary accommodations as needed. Manage weight handling in the workplace by lifting supplies or food items safely; support food industry standards for hygiene and safety at all times. Qualifications Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments preferred; culinary experience or banquet/catering experience is a plus. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures essential for maintaining hygiene standards. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests in person. Basic math skills for processing transactions and managing inventory levels accurately. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as coffee machines or warming trays; barista experience is advantageous. Ability to handle manual tasks including weight handling of supplies or equipment safely. Experience with POS systems for processing payments efficiently; wine knowledge is beneficial for beverage service roles. Hospitality background or dietary aide experience is valued for supporting diverse guest needs within the food industry context.
