This position will involve managing cash register transactions while also assisting with meal service on the serving line. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth and efficient operations by delivering excellent customer service, handling cash transactions, and serving meals in a timely and professional manner, while maintaining a clean and organized dining environment for residents and staff.

Cashier Responsibilities :
Accurately process cash, credit, and electronic transactions for meals and food items, ensuring proper change and receipts are given to customers. Maintain a clean and organized cash register area, ensuring all cash handling procedures comply with company policies. Assist with tracking sales, inventory, and daily financial reporting. Respond to customer inquiries in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns regarding pricing or transactions. Monitor cash drawer and report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately. Ensure that any discounts or promotions are applied appropriately to transactions.Serving Line Responsibilities :
Serve food items to residents and guests on the serving line, ensuring proper portion sizes and accurate meal selections. Assist residents with meal choices, accommodating special dietary needs and preferences (e.g., low-sodium, gluten-free, vegetarian). Ensure all food items are displayed in an appealing and organized manner, maintaining proper food temperature and hygiene standards. Monitor the serving line to ensure it is clean, stocked, and ready for service. Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor while interacting with residents and staff. Assist with food replenishment during meal service to ensure uninterrupted flow and availability of items. Ensure that residents' meal requests are accurately followed, and any dietary restrictions or preferences are adhered to.General Duties :
Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, including the serving line, cashier station, and dining area. Assist with setting up and breaking down the serving line before and after meals. Help with inventory management, ensuring food items and supplies are properly stocked and stored. Assist with the collection and cleaning of trays and utensils after meals. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in accordance with company and healthcare regulations. Assist other food service staff with tasks as needed, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service delivery. Perform all duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to, any additional tasks or responsibilities as may be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of the organization. Ensure the maintenance of a clean and sanitized work environment, which includes, but is not limited to, occasional assistance in the collection, disposal, and removal of waste materials and trash from the workspace, to uphold safety standards and maintain a hygienic work setting. Complete and maintain all required food safety logs and documentation as mandated by applicable federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.Qualifications :
Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or customer service roles is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents, visitors, and staff. Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a physically demanding environment. Friendly, outgoing, and able to provide excellent customer service. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to perform duties in emergency situations and adverse weather conditions, which may include extended on-site work hours as necessary to ensure the continuation of operations and to respond to unforeseen circumstances.Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and lift trays and supplies up to 25 pounds. Ability to move between cashier and serving line areas quickly and efficiently.Work Environment :
This position is based in a healthcare facility's food service area, which includes exposure to food allergens, hot equipment, and fast-paced dining settings. The Food Service Worker will be expected to engage residents and staff in a professional and customer-friendly manner. Employee will work all duties as assigned.
