Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Catering Staff at Wiley University will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service experiences to students, faculty, and guests. This role involves preparing, serving, and maintaining food and beverage offerings at various college events, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up food service areas for college events, including buffets, receptions, and meetings. Serve food and beverages to attendees, ensuring courteous and efficient service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of catering areas before, during, and after events. Assist in the preparation of menu items, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. Collaborate with the catering team to ensure timely and accurate execution of event requirements. Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a professional and friendly manner. Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or needs to the Catering Manager. Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies for events. Participate in training sessions to enhance service skills and knowledge of menu offerings.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional culinary or hospitality training is a plus.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in catering, food service, or a related field. Proven track record of working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in preparing and serving food to large groups is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and guests. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety regulations. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
