  • This position requires experience in Banquet events operation for events with 200+ attendees.
  • This position is compensated with a base wage of $12 per hour, and earns a share of the banquet gratuity. The estimated annual compensation is $62k
  • 70k. Banquet Captain Job Summary As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of banquet events. Your attention to detail and excellent organizational skills will ensure the success of each event.
  • Coordinate with culinary, convention services, and clients to understand their specific needs and requirements
  • Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, houseman, and support staff, to ensure smooth event operation
  • Set up banquet rooms according to event diagrams, including tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, decorations, food service equipment, and buffet creation
  • Responsible for using the CI/TY program to open banquet checks, input consumption information, obtain client's physical signature, and closing banquet checks
  • Responsible for completing Banquet Reconciliation spreadsheet to ensure charges are accurately posted to the client's account
  • Use Kipsu events mobile application for ease of communication with clients. Be responsive to the clients needs at all times
  • Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared and served in a timely manner
  • Monitor the quality of service provided to the clients and address any issues or concerns promptly
  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, and coordinate with the appropriate departments for replenishment
  • Keep all storage spaces clean and well organized for efficiency
  • Train new banquet staff members on service standards and procedures
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menus and ensure food presentation meets high standards
  • Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms after events Key Skills To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
  • Strong knowledge of the food industry, catering practices, and hospitality management
  • Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training banquet staff members
  • Culinary background or understanding of food preparation techniques is a plus
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, event planners, and staff members
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures and ability to reconcile financial transactions accurately
  • Exceptional customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction
