Full-time Job Title:
Kitchen Helper / Food Truck Assistant (4-Day Work Week)About Us Virginia Bison Co. operates a premier farm-to-table mobile food trailer right here on our beautiful, active bison farm. We serve our agritourism retreat cabins, retail and day visitors, and local foodies high-quality, "bison-centric" comfort food. We are expanding our operations and looking for a reliable, hard-working Kitchen Helper to join our team and support our Lead Chef.
The Schedule Days:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (4 days a week)
Hours:
11:00 AM
  • 9:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
Perk:
Full-time hours squeezed into 4 days, giving you Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off! What You'll Do (Responsibilities) As a Kitchen Helper, you are the backbone of the food trailer. You will work directly alongside our Lead Chef to ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Food Prep:
Assist with washing, chopping, portioning, and prepping fresh ingredients for our bison burgers, meal boxes, and picnic sets.
Line Support:
Help assemble orders, pack meal boxes, and ensure food is presented beautifully and handed off to guests.
Cleanliness & Dishwashing:
Maintain a spotless workspace. Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and ensure the food trailer meets strict health and safety standards.
Inventory & Restocking:
Help load/unload supplies and keep ingredients properly rotated and stocked during busy rush hours.
Teamwork:
Step in wherever needed to help the Lead Chef keep ticket times fast and quality high. What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications)
Reliability:
You are punctual, dependable, and show up ready to hustle.
Stamina:
Comfortable standing for long periods and working in the fast-paced, tight environment of a food trailer (and enjoying the outdoor farm setting!).
Positive Attitude:
You have a team-first mindset, take direction well, and bring good energy to the workspace.
Experience:
Previous experience in a kitchen, food truck, or restaurant prep role is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic.
Transport:
Reliable transportation to get to our farm location.
Compensation & Perks Hourly Pay:
$14.00

The Schedule:
Consistent 40-hour week with 3 consecutive days off.
Meal:
You will get a break that includes one of our menu meals each day as you prefer.
