Job Description

The Quechee Club, one of Vermont's Premier Country Clubs is looking for a Part-Time Banquet Captain to add to our growing events team! This position assists in overseeing front of the house operation of Banquets and Member Events to ensure service, staffing, appearance, ambiance, and control standards are being met, while filling a specific position for the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication:
Member or Event contact person, Liaison between front of the house, kitchen, and Event Coordinator. Set & Decorate Dining Areas and Buffets (Tabletops, Bars, Lounge areas, Buffet Tables) Address member and guest issues.
Controls:
Ensure club assets and facilities are secure. Follow POS and cash out closing procedures. Ensure liquor laws are being met. Ensure facility is properly secured according to end of the day. Complete pre & post event duties check list for front of the house staff.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assists Houseman and set up team with event set up (Tables, Chairs, Linens, serving utensils, chafing dishes) Notify manager or supervisor of issues including. Physical plant Service Quality Food Quality Pests Other member & guest issues Fill out End of Day Summary report. Assist supervisor or manager in creating and executing new ideas to improve the operation. Pre-Event (Complete opening check list) Ensure event is properly stocked and all equipment is operational for the shift. Ensure staffing is appropriate for anticipated business levels and notify supervisor or manager if adjustments are needed. Assist or deliver pre-meal meeting to communicate menu options, service flow, unique needs, VIP guests. In service Oversee and assist service staff (servers, runners, bartender, hosts) Immediately address any concerns of members or guests. Address concerns of FOH staff. Closing (Complete closing check list) Oversee closing duties of floor and bar staff. Run end of shift reports and report out information as directed. Secure location, facilities, products.
