Job Description
Bar Sur Mer is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and career-minded individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of steps of service and table maintenance. Looking for those who are dedicated and truly enjoy the service industry. We offer sick pay, employee discounts for dining, career growth opportunities, & benefits.
Position includes hourly rate, tips, and if qualified, based on average hours worked, a health, dental, and vision plan after the measurement and administration periods.
Our Bar Sur Mer servers and bartenders participate in a tip pool for each day that they work. We also practice tip sharing as a company, more commonly referred to as tipping-out. The FOH team tips out the kitchen and support staffed based on our tip sharing policy.
Wage Range and BenefitsHourly Wage is minimum wage (currently $21.30/hour), plus tips (based on our tip pooling and tip sharing policy).Sick pay is awarded at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. All PSSL is accrued and available for use in accordance with Washington State and local laws.
Employee receives 5 designated unpaid days off - Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and the 4th of July (or observed).Medical, Dental, and Vision plan election available after 6-month lookback period if eligible based on hours worked (average of 30/week).Employer pays 50% of employee only medical coverage.
Dependent/family coverage is available at full cost to the employee.
Employee Assistance Program provided upon hire at no cost to employee.50% Employee discount provided, for up to three additional guests if dining with you.
Employee Referral Incentive Program offered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.

Resourceful and well organized.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Maintains knowledge of recipes, steps of service, policies, and procedures.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers.
Self-motivated and punctual.
A desire to grow and take constructive feedback.
