These are part time positions, and the indicated salary will be prorated. About this Opportunity Located on San Juan Island, 100 miles north of Seattle, Friday Harbor Labs (FHL) is a marine research and education station. We serve students, scientists, artists, and guests who visit to study, learn, teach, conduct scientific research, and hold conferences. Key Responsibilities Serve food in cafeteria line; Open cans, apportion contents, wash and prepare vegetables for cooking; Prepare and serve warm and cold beverages, and soda fountain items; Assemble salads, sandwiches, and desserts; Reheat or prepare menu items from prepared sauces and proteins, frozen pre-proportioned servings, and prepared bakery items; Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and equipment; may operate ware and utensil washing machines, ovens, microwaves, slicers, food processors, and blenders; Clean tables and chairs, collect used wares, fill salt and pepper shakers, salad dressing, and napkin containers; May relieve or assist other employees in higher level food preparation tasks in emergency or on-the-job training situations. Required Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be forwarded to the Hiring Manager. Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.

Experience working in the food service industry.
