Job Description
920 Heinz Ave Reports to Café Supervisor and Food Service Manager Purpose To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of the Cafe to help meet department goals. Responsibilities Customer Service Fill customer orders in prompt, friendly, courteous manner. Report customer suggestions, comments and complaints to Café supervisor. Stock Cafe cases and displays fully to give feeling of abundance. Ensure freshness by rotating, keeping batches separate by date. Ensure all items are appropriately priced and signed. Keep menu boards up to date. Ensure that pricing is correct. Assist customers with questions and special orders. Department Maintenance Pull short-date items and properly account for before disposal. Maintain Café cases, displays, and prep and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following established procedures. Clean up spills. Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling and storing according to CURFFL and HACCP. Alert Café supervisor to low inventories and out-of-stocks of Café products and supplies. Use department equipment safely and as intended. Advise Food Service Manager of equipment repair needs. Carry out established opening and closing procedures. Follow established guidelines when using knives. Food Preparation Following specification of Café supervisor, prepare items as assigned. Maintain proper storage and labeling procedures. Pull pre-made productions from the kitchen and stock in Kitchen cases as assigned. Knowledge & Skills Basic math skills required Familiarity with natural foods, nutrition and food sensitives. Understanding of written and spoken English Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment. Handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment. Education & Training High school diploma or GED preferred. Licenses & Certifications Food Safety Other Must be 18 years old of age to operate equipment Able to stand for extended periods of time. Willingness to work with meat Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.
