Responsibilities Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat using knives and meat processing machines, ensuring precise cuts and portion sizes. Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all food safety sanitizing procedures. Inspect meat products visually for quality control, removing any substandard or spoiled items to maintain freshness. Package meat products accurately for retail display or customer orders, ensuring proper labeling and perishable goods management. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment following food safety management protocols. Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips. Support inventory management by rotating stock, tracking perishable goods, and notifying supervisors of low stock levels or quality concerns. Qualifications Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments with a focus on meat handling or butchery. Strong knife skills with the ability to perform slicing techniques and trimming methods efficiently. Familiarity with meat processing machine operation and food safety sanitizing procedures. Basic math skills for portioning, pricing, and inventory management. Knowledge of food handling regulations, visual inspection for quality control, and perishable goods management. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach to assisting shoppers. Previous kitchen or culinary experience is a plus; restaurant experience is highly valued.
