In this role, you will be responsible for expertly preparing, cutting, and packaging a variety of meats to meet quality standards and customer expectations. Your expertise in meat processing, food safety procedures, and customer service will ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat using appropriate butchery techniques and slicing methods to ensure high-quality products. Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation at all times. Package meat products accurately, labeling items clearly for retail display or customer orders. Conduct visual inspections for quality control, ensuring all perishable goods meet safety standards and are free from defects or contamination. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a hygienic work environment and prevent cross-contamination. Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips while delivering excellent customer service. Manage inventory of perishable goods, including trimming excess fat or bones and organizing stock for easy access and freshness preservation. Qualifications Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments with a focus on meat handling preferred. Strong knife skills with the ability to perform precise meat cutting, trimming, slicing techniques, and fish handling if applicable. Familiarity with meat processing machine operation and food safety management practices. Knowledge of food handling regulations, sanitizing procedures, and visual inspection for quality control. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating weights or portions accurately. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting. Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous; familiarity with food industry standards is essential.
