Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Butchery Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our butchery, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality. This position requires a blend of hands-on skills and customer service abilities, making it perfect for individuals passionate about supporting local farmers and serving customers professionally and respectfully. Responsibilities Pulling customer's orders from the freezer when they come to pick up; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Answering phone calls to take cutting instructions, book appointments, or directing the call as needed, while maintaining a professional attitude. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front lobby area, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with placing their orders and inquiries. Training for cutting orders will be done within the first 2 weeks of hire. Operate various tools and equipment safely, including hand slicers and vacuum sealers. Support inventory management by tracking stock and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Utilize computer systems for booking appointments for the slaughter of livestock, finding previous orders for our customers on Google Drive, and emailing farmers and customers as needed. Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and managers to ensure smooth operations within the butchery. Requirements Previous experience in a butchery environment is preferred but not mandatory. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers. Basic computer literacy is essential; familiarity with phone systems, office management tasks, and Google Suite is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Must be able to follow instructions accurately and work collaboratively as part of a team.
