Job Description
Overview We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Meat Department Wrapper to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the key person responsible for preparing, packaging, and presenting high-quality meat products to our customers. Your work will ensure that every customer receives fresh, properly wrapped meat with excellent service. Responsibilities Wrap and package various types of meat products accurately and efficiently, following established standards. Ensure all meat handling and preparation meet food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about meat cuts, and offering product recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, including sanitizing work surfaces and tools regularly. Support inventory management by restocking display cases and reporting low stock levels or quality concerns. Follow proper knife skills and meat cutting techniques to prepare products for sale or further processing. Help uphold food safety standards by adhering to proper storage procedures and temperature controls. Skills Experience in food production, food preparation, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of meat cutting techniques, knife skills, and food handling safety practices. Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards shoppers. Familiarity with food industry standards related to packaging and presentation of meat products. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining attention to detail. Previous restaurant or culinary experience is a plus, especially with meat or butcher work. A proactive approach to cleanliness, safety, and teamwork within the food handling environment.
