Overview Join our dynamic team as a Butcher/Meat Cutter and become a vital part of delivering high-quality, fresh meat products to our valued customers. In this energetic role, you will leverage your culinary expertise, knife skills, and food safety knowledge to expertly process, prepare, and package a variety of meats. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will ensure our perishable goods meet the highest standards of quality and freshness. Duties Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare a wide range of meats including beef, pork, poultry, using appropriate butchery techniques and slicing methods Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently to ensure precise cuts and optimal product quality Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring all work surfaces, tools, and equipment are hygienic and compliant with health regulations Package meat products accurately for retail display or customer orders, utilizing proper labeling and portioning techniques Conduct visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, proper color, texture, and signs of spoilage or contamination Manage perishable goods with care, ensuring proper storage temperatures and rotation to minimize waste Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about meat cuts, preparation tips, and food handling best practices Experience Previous experience in food production or food preparation within retail stores or butcher shops is highly desirable Hands-on experience operating meat processing machines and performing meat cutting with precision knives is essential Strong knowledge of food safety management protocols, sanitizing procedures, and handling perishable goods confidently Familiarity with culinary techniques related to meat trimming, slicing, and preparation enhances product quality Retail store experience that includes customer interaction and product presentation is a plus Basic math skills for accurate portioning and weight measurement are required Kitchen or culinary experience involving fish handling or general food industry knowledge will support your success in this role Embark on a career where your craftsmanship meets customer satisfaction!
