Job Description

Join Our Team as a Meat Clerk (Sausage Maker) at Uncle G' gourmet Marketplace. We're looking for a motivated and friendly Sausage Maker to join our busy Meat Department—and yes, weekends are part of the fun as we serve our amazing customers! Don't worry if you're not a butcher— while butchering skills are a plus, they're definitely not required. What really matters is your passion for great customer service and helping shoppers find exactly what they need. In this hands-n role, you'll help craft our signature fresh sausages using quality ingredients, traditional techniques, and a commitment to excellence. From preparing and seasoning meats to stuffing, linking, and maintaining product quality, you'll play an important part in delivering the exceptional flavors our customers have come to expect. Responsibilities:
Prepare and grind meat according to recipes and production standardsMix meats, spices, and seasonings in correct proportionsOperate sausage-making machinery such as grinders, mixers, stuffers, and smokersStuff sausage casings and link sausages by hand or machineFollow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelinesInspect products for quality, texture, weight, and appearanceMaintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipmentOther duties as assigned Requirements Must be at least 18 years of agePrevious experience working in a Meat Department, working with fresh meat is preferredKnowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred or willingness to learnAbility to work in a fast paced environment while providing excellent customer serviceAble to work all shifts or shifts as provided with schedule Join a team that values and rewards its employees. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
