We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Butcher Shop Associate . This is a dynamic role that combines food preparation, sales, and customer service in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales (Primary Focus): Greet and engage customers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner. Consult with customers on cuts of meat, preparation techniques, and appropriate pairing ingredients. Accurately weigh, price, and package customer orders. Handle cash and credit transactions using a POS system. Maintain the presentation and organization of the display cases, ensuring all products are fresh, properly labeled, and appealing.
Inventory & Shop Maintenance:
Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to the management team. Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries of product and supplies. Strictly adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines (e.g., HACCP, local health codes) at all times. Clean and sanitize all equipment, surfaces, and the shop floor at the end of the shift.
Qualifications Experience:
1+ years of experience in retail, food service, or a customer-facing role. Experience in a meat/deli department or specialty food environment is a strong plus.
Skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
Aptitude:
A genuine passion for quality food, especially meat, and a willingness to learn butchery techniques.
Availability:
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in cold, refrigerated environments. Preferred Basic knowledge of meat cuts and cooking methods. Experience operating a commercial slicer, grinder, or other prep equipment. Current Food Handler's certification.

From $14.00 per hour
