This role ensures accuracy in game procedures, handles wagers and payouts correctly, and maintains compliance with all internal controls and gaming regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deals poker games while seated at assigned tables, maintaining game integrity and control of betting activity. Manages the pot, collects casino commission (vig), and exchanges guest currency for chips in accordance with established procedures. Pays winning hands and distributes chips accurately according to poker rules and house procedures. Answers guest questions regarding poker rules, promotions, and poker room procedures. Maintains the integrity of playing cards and follows all policies related to card handling, security, and game protection. Opens and closes poker games as directed. Ensures compliance with internal controls, Tribal and State gaming regulations, and federal laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act. Follows Title 31 procedures and departmental standards. Provides courteous, professional guest service throughout all interactions. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate high professional ethics. Knowledgeable in poker rules, gameplay, and room procedures. Skilled in dealing Poker with a solid understanding of all game regulations. Ability to accurately handle chips and currency in a fast-paced gaming environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact diplomatically with guests and team members. Must display a high regard for guest service and team collaboration. EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience dealing poker in a regulated casino environment. Proficient in game procedures, rules, and customer service standards for poker. Ability to handle cards and chips accurately and efficiently while maintaining game integrity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members. Must be able to maintain composure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in accordance with regulatory requirements.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS
Must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

Communication Skills:

Occasionally lifts and transports playing cards, chip racks, table layouts, and other table game equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Manual Dexterity:
Continuously uses hands and fingers to shuffle and deal cards, handle chips, operate table game procedures, and perform precise hand movements with accuracy and speed for extended periods.
Mobility:
Frequently stands in a stationary position at a gaming table for the duration of assigned shifts; must be able to pivot, reach, and bend as needed to perform game actions and interact with guests across the table.
Stationary Work:
Frequently remains standing at a table in one location for extended periods with minimal breaks; must maintain consistent physical posture and attentiveness during live games.
Tool Operation:
Regular use of cards, chips, dealing shoes, shufflers, and table game accessories; must operate all gaming tools according to gaming regulations and internal controls.
Visual Acuity:
Requires strong near vision and depth perception to distinguish card values, chip denominations, player gestures, and verify wagers; must maintain awareness of player actions and ensure game integrity.
Working Conditions:
Routinely works in a high-traffic casino environment with exposure to loud noise, bright lighting, frequent public interaction, and a smoking environment on or near the gaming floor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
