Responsibilities SUMMARY Adheres to casino and government policies and regulations regarding table games. Prepares and supervises games during shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must all cash transactions into cheque.
  • Check the layout to ensure that the betting is not over the table limit or under the minimum.
  • Shuffle and deal cards.
  • Pay winning bets and collect losing bets.
  • Remain aware of the amount that people are betting.
  • Total hands quickly and accurately always remembering what the dealer has.
  • Protection of dice, keep dice in sight at all times.
  • Notify the floorperson/boxperson of any irregularities.
  • Keep the pace of the game as fast and smooth as possible without running over the base dealers or customers.
  • Call the dice in a clear and informative manner.
  • Observe all payoffs and collections on the base where the dice are landing.
  • Correct any errors the base has made.
  • Book, setup, and payoff all bets in the proposition box and any one time bets.
  • Protect the layout.
  • Observe all customer bets.
  • Insure that bets are within rules and limits allowed.
  • Book, setup, and pay all dealer handled bets.
  • Change currency for gaming tokens.
  • Notify Floorperson or Boxperson immediately of any irregularities or any customer requests which are outside of a dealer's authority or knowledge.
  • Provide customers with information on how to play the game if desired.
  • Decide on whether or not to book or not book a late bet.
  • Meet department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements.
  • Meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, department and company policies.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Any reasonable request made by your supervisor or any management personnel.

EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
