The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and a commitment to excellence in food production. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a positive team environment. The Stonebreaker Hotel offers guest rooms and suites with full-service restaurant and dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels, this boutique hotel embodies a fireside retreat with 4-star service in an approachable, natural setting. Full-time, year-round position, $60,000 to $70,000
Job Summary:
Support chef in creative, cost appropriate menu items based on market segments. Assist in the development and implementation of recipes and education of staff on appropriate execution and presentation of all dishes. Practice and lead staff in proper timing of foods. Practice effective food rotation, inventory management, par levels, and ordering/receiving. Creates a fun, energetic and team-oriented working environment for entire staff. Assist Executive Chef in the control of labor management via strategic scheduling, overtime monitoring, and making daily staffing decisions. In addition to the regular execution of restaurant operations, also assist in the execution of special events, private parties, and banquets. Manages all health, sanitation, safety and security, laws, policies and procedures in all F&B departments/hotel. Required Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a high volume, full service restaurant. Previous staff management experience preferred. Experience in Banquet/Event execution preferred. Creative, innovative, and inspired to develop new and intriguing menu items designed for appropriate clientele. Demonstrate a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude. Experience in inventory control and cost management preferred. Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly and prioritize effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality. Must have flexibility with schedule to include evenings and weekend.
Experience and Skills:
Familiarity with a variety of culinary techniques and kitchen operations. Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment. Experience with inventory management, cost control, and staff training. Knowledge of food allergies and safety practices.
