Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The charge of the Cook is to coordinate and conduct the overall dining experience and nutrition of the residents. This should be accomplished by ensuring that each senior's daily dietary needs are being met through meals that are appetizing, nutritious, visually appealing, and prepared according to individual tastes and preferences, as well as creating a dining environment that is warm, friendly, and inviting. Culinary Operations Communicates and connects with residents to learn their dining tastes and preferences and ensure the residents are satisfied Provides alternate meal choices for each meal in accordance with residents tastes and preferences Adheres to all county health codes and earn E (for excellent) at each inspection • Complies with all Arizona Department of Health Services regulations• Meets residents special diet needs (i.e., diabetics, mechanical soft, food allergies etc.) Follows the posted weekly menus Collaborates with the CED on the requisition of products and other necessary food supplies Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are always maintained in the kitchen and dining room(s) Establishes controls to minimize food and supply waste and avoid employee theft Utilize knowledge about safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles to ensure food prep is safe Adheres to standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation, which help to ensure consistently high quality and to minimize food costs Consults with the CED as relates to food production and special events being planned Cooks or directly supervises the cooking of items that require skillful preparation Evaluates food products to ensure that quality standards are consistently attained Interacts with CED to ensure that food production consistently exceeds the expectations of residents and family members Adheres to the planned and posted cleaning and maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment Utilizes locally sourced and organic food whenever possible Leadership Creates a positive environment, which encourages creative, positive problem solving and overall job satisfaction for team members Develops a strong team culture which fosters interdepartmental cooperation Demonstrate exemplary attitude, work ethic, and unwavering integrity Lead with a servant-leadership style that is inspirational, motivational, and compassionate Customer Service Contribute to an incredible customer experience Assist CED in providing training and insight to team members to achieve positive customer interactions Help team members be great with positive attitudes that treat everyone the way they would like to be treatedFINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS
Generate revenue to meet and exceed business goals Minimize expense by ensuring community team payrolls are in budget Minimize expense by ensuring supply expenses are in budget Take action to ensure company is maximizing profits and operating leanWORKING PARAMETERS
According to schedule Must take schedule lunch breaks Extra hours required in accordance with resident and shift needs All overtime must be approved by ED Clocking in and working, other than what is scheduled or approved by supervisor, is not acceptablePOSITION OBJECTIVES
Ensure that company's mission statement is successfully fulfilled Meet or exceed financial and census goals Succeed in maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses Foster a culture of compassion and people-focused care Construct positive relationships with all senior-care professionals and in the community Build the business for long-term success Protect the business from potential liabilities and risks High school diploma or equivalent At least one (1) year of kitchen experience is preferred Must have good physical and mental health Must possess an upbeat, positive, flexible, and enthusiastic personality and be congenial with fellow team members, residents, and the general public at large Must be honest, dependable, and exhibit unwavering integrity Must maintain proper hygiene Must be professional in dress and presentation Must be willing to be active and on feet during the entire workday Must be able to effectively communicate in standard English both verbally and in writing Must be capable of following oral and written instructions • Must have the ability to use own judgment and initiate daily activities• Must be a mature individual Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Must be detail and teamwork orientated Must attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements Must be drug free and submit to a urinary analysis drug screen upon hire and randomly Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire if not in possession of valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance card The team members shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of American Care Concepts Must have the ability to lift, push or pull 40lbs or more Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and reach Must be able to stand on ones' feet for a minimum of 8 hours at a timeSimilar remote jobs
