Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests. You will bring your expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and ingredient selection to create memorable dining experiences. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and creativity Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations Select fresh ingredients, including fish, vegetables, and rice, ensuring quality standards are met Demonstrate expert knife skills for slicing fish and preparing ingredients efficiently Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours Educate guests about different types of sushi and ingredients to enhance their dining experience Assist in developing new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep offerings innovative and appealing Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation and culinary arts, including knife skills and ingredient handling Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, especially sushi techniques Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members Creativity in presentation and menu development to attract diverse clientele Familiarity with sourcing fresh ingredients locally or internationally Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic Asian cuisine Experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments or catering settings Commitment to continuous learning about new sushi trends, techniques, and ingredients
