opened its first restaurant and market location in 2010 in The Historic Brentwood Country Mart, followed by the Marin Country Mart restaurant in 2013. Position Overview:
As a Sous Chef at
FARMSHOP
Marin, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the highest standards of culinary excellence and operational efficiency. You will assist in menu development, food preparation, and kitchen management, contributing to the overall success of the culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and culinary creativity.
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in training and development of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Support special events and catering operations as required. Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a culinary role, with at least 3 years in a Sous Chef or similar position.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and ingredient sourcing.
  • Leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
