Job Description
Job Summary Carpe Diem Restaurant & Bar is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef / Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be a key player in delivering exceptional dining experiences by preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Your energetic approach and leadership skills will help foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes creativity, efficiency, and excellence in every plate served. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a fast-paced, fine dining setting while contributing to the overall success of our hospitality team. This position is available as full-time or part-time and offers competitive pay. Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and daily kitchen Proven experience in fine dining kitchens or upscale restaurant environments, with a strong background in food production and culinary techniques Supervisory experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting is highly desirable Prepare and execute high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards Help manage, train, and support kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, consistency, and flavor Assist with food ordering, inventory management, and minimizing waste Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Collaborate with front-of-house staff to help create a seamless dining experience for guests Participate in menu development, recipe creation, and seasonal specials Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment during service Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or in a similar kitchen leadership role Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Passion for cooking and commitment to producing high-quality food Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Culinary education or certification is preferred but not required Evening and 8-hour shift availability preferred Job Types Full-time Part-time Shifts 8-hour shift Evening shift About Us We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment where creativity, teamwork, and passion for hospitality are encouraged.
