Restaurant focus is artisanal sandwiches, seasonal salads, fresh juice, signature lemonades and baked goods. This position will work directly with the owner(s) and will require both prep and lunch service. No late nights, currently closed on Sunday's. The ideal candidate will have between 5-10 years of kitchen experience, strong leadership mentality, desire to learn and be challenged, responsible, takes initiative, creative, communicative, thick skinned and goal oriented. Some dishwashing and deep cleaning are a part of the job duties, as well as flexibility with providing help where needed. Pay will be determined by experience with opportunity for an increase. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including slicing, dicing, and portioning. Execute menu items with consistency while adhering to safety standards, food handling protocols and to the set presentation. Operate kitchen equipment such as combination oven, juicer, food processor, blenders, and mixers safely and efficiently. All equipment should be treated with respect and kept clean to ensure longevity. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas to meet sanitation requirements Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure quality control Communicate what items need to be ordered through a shared list. Adhere to the deep cleaning schedule to keep a clean kitchen. Provide extra hands, when needed, to accomplish goals. Communicate with management ahead of time regarding scheduling and availability. Menu building with chef/owner for seasonal items and specials. Requirements Previous experience in a food service environment or culinary setting is a must. Experience with some baking is useful but not required. Strong knife skills with attention to detail Current San Bernardino County Food Handler's Card is required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation and food industry best practices Ability to stand for long periods of time and safely lift items up to 50lbs. Must be comfortable going up and down a flight of stairs. Must be able to follow directions, prioritize prep list items, and read recipes. Must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
