Responsibilities Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with attention to detail, presentation, and freshness. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to all food safety standards. Select high-quality ingredients, including fresh fish, vegetables, and rice, ensuring optimal flavor and safety. Develop innovative sushi recipes and contribute to menu development to keep offerings exciting. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages. Educate team members on proper sushi techniques and uphold best practices in culinary craftsmanship. Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation, including knife skills and fish handling. Strong knowledge of Japanese culinary traditions and modern sushi trends. Ability to develop new recipes through curriculum development and culinary experimentation. Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or conducting culinary workshops. Proven experience working with children or adults in educational or culinary settings. Skills in photography for documenting dishes or creating promotional content. Background in cooking, culinary arts, or related fields with a focus on seafood cuisine. Experience with classroom experience or teaching in culinary or early childhood education environments. Familiarity with behavior management techniques when working with diverse groups of students or trainees. Knowledge of childhood development principles relevant to teaching cooking classes for children or preschoolers. Ability to plan lessons or demonstrations that engage learners of all ages, including special education needs if applicable. Competence in theater or performance arts for hosting engaging cooking demonstrations or cultural presentations. Sewing or crafting skills are a plus for creating themed decorations or presentation accessories related to Japanese culture.
