Responsibilities Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with meticulous attention to detail and presentation. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all food preparation areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and uphold quality standards during busy hours. Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and communicate supply needs proactively. Follow recipes and culinary techniques accurately while also bringing creative flair to menu offerings. Assist in training junior team members on sushi techniques, knife skills, and safety procedures. Uphold a positive team environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and enthusiasm for culinary excellence. Skills Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including rice cooking, fish slicing, and roll assembly. Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices. Experience in curriculum development or teaching culinary skills is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and ensuring smooth operations. Passion for Japanese cuisine combined with creativity in presentation and flavor pairing. Familiarity with culinary arts related to seafood handling, knife skills, and ingredient sourcing. Experience working in a professional kitchen environment with a focus on quality control. Knowledge of classroom management or training methods for mentoring junior staff or apprentices. Background in early childhood education or working with children is advantageous for team development roles.
