The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of sushi techniques. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting delicious sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold the reputation of our establishment. Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes according to menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with safety and hygiene standards. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create innovative sushi menus that reflect seasonal ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests and accommodating special dietary requests. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the restaurant industry. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Excellent knife skills with experience in meal preparation and fine dining settings. Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving techniques is highly desirable. Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. A passion for culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine.
