The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes that delight our customers. Responsibilities Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes. Ensure all food items are fresh, properly stored, and handled in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and create innovative sushi offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies. Provide training and support to junior kitchen staff as needed. Stay updated on food trends and techniques to continually enhance menu offerings. Experience Proven experience in meal preparation within the food service or restaurant industry, specifically in sushi or Japanese cuisine. Familiarity with various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and health regulations. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary. Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
