Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with precision, artistry, and consistency, ensuring each plate meets our quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations. Select fresh, high-quality ingredients for sushi preparation, including fish, vegetables, rice, and seaweed. Educate team members on proper sushi techniques and presentation to uphold the restaurant's culinary standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders efficiently during busy service hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages. Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety protocols such as First Aid and CPR certifications when applicable. Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Strong knife skills and knowledge of traditional sushi techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with health and safety standards related to food preparation, including First Aid and CPR certifications. Excellent communication skills for teamwork and guest interaction. Technical proficiency with productivity software for inventory management and reporting purposes. Experience teaching or mentoring junior staff is a plus, especially in classroom or online instruction settings related to culinary arts or food safety.
