Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Cook to support daily kitchen operations, assist with food preparation, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, follows instructions well, and works efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen. Key Responsibilities Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation, cooking, and plating Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and standards Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, equipment, and utensils Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times Store food properly and rotate stock to maintain freshness Support kitchen team during busy service periods Assist with inventory, restocking, and receiving deliveries Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes Requirements Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, equipment, and safety procedures Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary team Flexible schedule — evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience in a professional kitchen environment Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Familiarity with basic cooking techniques
