Sumran Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar brings together authentic Thai cooking and a fresh, made-to-order sushi bar under one roof. Our sushi bar is a growing part of the business, and we're looking for a skilled sushi chef to take ownership of it — either as a key member of our team or as a partner who wants to help build and grow the sushi program alongside us. Partner:
An experienced chef and entrepreneur who wants more than a paycheck — someone interested in a partnership stake in the sushi bar, sharing in its success and helping shape its menu, operations, and growth. If you have the skills and the drive, we want to talk regardless of which path fits you best. What You'll Do Prepare fresh sushi, sashimi, rolls, and specialty items to a high standard of quality and presentation Manage the sushi station: prep, knife work, fish handling, and clean, food-safe operations Source and maintain fresh seafood inventory and manage ordering to control waste and cost Develop and refine the sushi menu, including seasonal and signature items Maintain a clean, organized workspace that meets all health and food-safety standards Provide friendly, engaging service at the sushi bar when interacting with guests (For partner candidates) Contribute to pricing, marketing, and growth strategy for the sushi side of the business What We're Looking For Proven experience as a sushi chef (restaurant or sushi bar setting) Strong knife skills and deep knowledge of fish selection, handling, and food safety Ability to work efficiently during busy service and maintain consistency Valid Food Handler / ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain one) Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for sushi craft For partner candidates: business sense and a long-term commitment to growing the sushi bar What We Offer Partnership / profit-sharing structure available for the right candidate (terms negotiable) Creative freedom to shape the sushi menu A supportive team and an established restaurant with built-in foot traffic
