Job Description

This is a part time job with opportunity for growth, teaching adults and kids classes. Schedule Requirements Evenings and weekends required. Variable weekly schedule based on class volume. About Food Lab Food Lab is a hands-on cooking school where the guest is the hero in the kitchen. We provide interactive culinary experiences that inspire connection, confidence, and creativity. Our Chef Instructors lead the way in creating a memorable environment where guests learn new skills and enjoy great food. Role Summary The Chef Instructor is responsible for teaching and leading recreational cooking classes while maintaining a fun, safe, and professional atmosphere. This role requires strong culinary knowledge, exceptional communication, and authentic hospitality. Key Responsibilities Teach hands-on cooking classes with clarity, pacing, and guest support Maintain Food Lab's class structure, flow, and recipe integrity Support setup, ingredient prep, and breakdown Communicate with guests and team in a professional, uplifting manner Ensure kitchen sanitation and food safety compliance Qualifications Required Strong culinary skills and comfort teaching groups Warm, confident communication and hospitality awareness Must be available evenings and weekends ServSafe Manager + TIPS certification (or enrollment before first shift) Reliability and strong teamwork values Preferred Experience teaching cooking classes or hospitality instruction Customer engagement and public speaking experience
