Job Description
Authentic Life Early Learning Center is looking for a reliable, caring, and organized Chef to join our team! Our chef plays an important role in creating healthy, delicious meals and a positive mealtime experience for the children in our center. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, takes pride in their food, and can keep a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen. What You'll Do Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children and staff as applicable. Follow the center's meal plan and nutrition guidelines. Prepare meals that are age-appropriate, nutritious, and appealing to young children. Accommodate approved food allergies and dietary restrictions. Maintain accurate food and meal records. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Properly store, label, rotate, and monitor food. Monitor food inventory and communicate when supplies need to be ordered. Assist with menu planning and provide ideas for nutritious meals. Keep kitchen equipment and work areas clean and maintained. Follow center policies and Colorado childcare food-service requirements. Communicate professionally with the administrative team regarding meals, supplies, allergies, and kitchen needs. We Are Looking For Someone Who Is Dependable and punctual. Organized and able to manage time independently. Comfortable preparing food for a large group. Patient, positive, and professional. Passionate about providing healthy food to children. Knowledgeable about food safety and sanitation. Comfortable following allergy and dietary protocols. Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. A team player who communicates well with teachers and administration. Qualifications Previous cooking, food service, school, childcare, or institutional kitchen experience preferred. Food safety/food handler certification as required. Ability to pass required background checks. Ability to meet applicable childcare licensing and health requirements. Experience preparing meals for young children is a plus. Why Authentic Life?
